Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

DVR’s purpose is to empower people with disabilities to achieve a greater quality of life by obtaining and maintaining employment. They do this partly through contracts with agencies such as ENSO to provide services.

If you have a disability and are interested in employment or training for a job it can be to your advantage to go through DVR’s intake process. You can then be considered for a range of employment services. DVR will want to get to know you so services can be tailored to your interests, skills and abilities. Resources through DVR are time limited, designed to help you get a job and support you for the first three months.

ENSO contracts with DVR to provide you with the following services:

WorkStrides Workshops

A three day highly interactive workshop for our customers that help them evaluate their strengths, values, personal qualities, barriers, self-esteem, and resiliency. It is suitable for anyone who has applied for DVR’s services and who has at least a 6th grade reading level.

Trial Work Experience

A trial work experience is used to gain an understanding of your abilities, capabilities, and capacity to perform in a real work setting (paid or unpaid) The results of a trial work experience are used to:

  1. Determine whether you can benefit from VR services and achieve an employment outcome;
  2. Obtain information you need to select a suitable vocational goal;
  3. Determine the nature and scope of VR services you need to achieve an employment outcome.

Community Based Assessment

ENSO will work with you to find and secure positions in realistic work settings to help assess work interests, abilities and identify any employment barriers you may face. This process will assist in identifying the nature and extent of support(s) and accommodation(s) needed for you to obtain and maintain competitive employment.

Community Based Assessment (CBA) can be provided at any point in the vocational rehabilitation process.

Job Placement

ENSO will help you locate, secure and begin a paid job in the community. We will work with you to match you with the right job for you that meets your interests, skills and abilities.

You will work directly with an ENSO Employment Professional that will assist you to find the right job for you.

Intensive Training Services

One-on-one job skills training and support provided at the supported employment job site to enable you to:

  1. Attain job stabilization in on-the-job performance, with job supports;
  2. Meet your employer’s expected levels of work productivity;
  3. Transition to long-term Extended Services as provided by an entity other than DVR (usually DDA).

Job Retention Services

Individualized on-the-job-site training and support services that enable you to learn the essential functions of a job; meet your employer’s expected level of job performance; and retain your employment for ninety (90) calendar days past the point of Job Placement.
